3DS Max Caustics

Exciting new tutorial on creating beautiful caustics within 3DS Max.  This is a useful technique for anyone using transparent materials for photorealistic scenes, and looks really cool too!

This is my first tutorial so bear with me =D

    • Okay, I will start rendering them at 480p as well as 720p if that would help you. I was reluctant before because I want you to bee able to see all the buttons I click etc. but I can try it out for the next tutorial okay?

  • I’ve learned some new things through your web site.

I absolutely love your tutorials. I’ve been looking for an equivalent to GreyScaleGorilla for 3DS and you are it (perhaps not in size, but definetly in quality). You go step-by-step, you don’t rush and you have a really nice voice to listen to. Keep it up

I gotta say, your tutorials have helped me out a LOT with 3ds Max.

I’m a student at a small high school that was elected for the Project Lead The Way program. Picked up 3ds Max 2013 for free, but was never able to take a class on it. These videos are close enough. 😀

Thanks loads for this stuff bro.

    • Good to hear man! Site has been a bit dead for a while now, but I am planning a re-launch this winter with a broader tutorial selection (Max, Maya, After Effects & Photoshop primarily). Still a lot of work to do though! Shoot a link to the stuff you’ve made it would be cool to see
